In the time of HOUARI BOUMEDIENE, it was progressive, then it was very radical and blind at the time of CHADLI BEN JDID and later with ABDELAZIZ BOUTEFLIKA it was finally restructured and reformed. The constitution of BOUTEFLIKA was a real renaissance of the languages and took into account the respect for other languages and cultures in Algeria. But because of this significant reform, the native Algerian language and French remain without political status, although they are the languages THE more widely used.
