<text>This work presents a direct torque control (DTC) strategy by artificial intelligence (Neural Networks (ANN) and Fuzzy Logic (FL))applied to the control system of an induction high power machine. The application of the DTC brings a very interesting result to theobstacles of robustness and dynamics. A comparison of the performance of the proposed DTC control with the conventional 12-sectors vector-free DTC control will be presented. The simulation results were visualized and presented by Matlab / Simulink. The current, flux and torque ripples will be judged and compared for the two proposed controls. As a result, the behavior of DTC based on RNA and FL is more efficient compared to conventional DTC control.</text>

<text>In this work, we will study the non-linear behavior of a plate in cylindrical bending using an exponential function with gradient ofmaterial properties (Commonly called E-FG). The plates are subjected to uniform loading and geometric nonlinearity is introduced into relationship the stress-strain using the expressions nonlinear deformations of Von Karman's. The material properties of the plate, except the Poisson coefficient, are assumed to vary in the direction of thickness z in the form of an exponential law distribution. The solution is obtained by using the Prince of Hamilton. Numerical results by an exponential function with gradient of properties are given in the form of graphs non-dimensional; and determine the effect of the material properties on the deflection and the normal stress across the thickness.</text>

<text>In order to enhance the extractable principles of Securidaca longipedunculata for therapeutic purposes, we quantified and evaluated the antioxidant capacity of saponins extracted from its roots. It emerges from this investigative work that the contents of triterpenic saponins and steroids are respectively 68.40 and 78 10-6 g/100g DM. Thus, the quantitative phytochemical analysis revealed that the roots of the plant contain mainly triterpene saponins. The evaluation of the antioxidant capacity by ORAC and FRAP methods has shown that the saponins from the roots of S. longipedunculata are antioxidant by transfer of hydrogen and electron respectively.</text>

Pédai and Namba fonio landraces have been chosen and associated to soyabean (Jupiter variety) for production of eight complementary flours with varied proportions of fonio (Pédai or Namba) and soyabean. Physico-chemical characteristics of the different flours were determined. Thus, the highest flour percentage is obtained with sieves 180 µm for the most of formulated complementary foods and colors varied according to added soya quantities. The results also showed significant differences (p≤0.05) in nutritional composition of the formulated flours. The lowest energy densities and protein, lipid and ash contents were obtained with flours having 90% of fonio and 10% of soyabean while the highest values were obtained with flours containing 60% of fonio and 40% of soyabean for the two landraces.</text>

<text>The knowledge of the diet of animals in their natural environment is a prerequisite for understanding their biology and ecology. Thus the aim of this study was to describe the diet of the Bosk’s Fringe-toed lizards Acanthodactylus boskianus, one of the most common lizards in the coastal habitats in Gabès region (southern Tunisia). In this area, this lizard species occurs in coastal dunes as well as in inland sandy habitats. So, we wished to compare the diversity of preys consumed by this lizard in both habitats: beach vs. backshore. Analysis of the stomach contents of 47 lizards showed a diet composed of various invertebrates, but that varied among habitats. In particular, we found that lizards living in sandy beaches included in their diets littoral preys, mostly Talitres (amphipods). Overall, our results confirm the alimentary opportunism of A. boskianus. They also emphasize the role of interface between the marine and terrestrial food chains played by this lizard species in the coastal ecosystems of the Gulf of Gabès. This last observation suggests that this lizard could also play a possible role in the transfer of pollutants (mainly heavy metals) discharged into the sea by the Gabès-Ghannouche industries of phosphate treatment from the sea to the terrestrial environment.</text>

<text>The traditional method of Moroccan paprika processing consists in manual harvesting the fruit in full ripe stage, sun drying, crushing in traditional processing units and oiling (removing the peduncle and seeds is optional). The details about the paprika processing operations are reported. In a second part, a comparative study of the quality of paprika from three spice-producing regions in Morocco was undertaken by analyzing their physicochemical, nutritional and bioactive constituents and their antioxidant activity. The paprika of the three provenances showed values of ASTA which varied from 104 to 144 Units. The main fatty acids components of paprika are linoleic acid, palmitic acid and oleic acid. In terms of mineral composition, paprika from the three regions is rich in potassium, magnesium and relatively poor in sodium. El Kalâa des Sraghna paprika showed the highest total capsaicinoid values (184.97 mg/kg DW). The best antioxidant capacity was obtained by Tadla paprika (IC50= 260 µg/ml for the DPPH test and 43.03 µg/ml for the ABTS test).</text>

The globalincrease of the temperature of the surface of the globe in the 20th century is of the order of 0.6 in 0.2 °C. All the elements of the climate, the temperatures and the precipitation play a fundamental role in the detection of climate change. This article analyzes the variability and the trends of climate of the city of Dakar, capital of the Republic of Senegal, during the period 1960-2013 from four climatic variables: minimal temperatures, maximal temperatures, average temperatures and totals rainfalls. The results of the analysis indicate a trend on the temperatures quasi-stable from 1960 to 1994. After 1994, year of break, the increase of the temperatures becomes very significant. This increase between 1995-2013 and 1960-1994 is on average 0.9 °C (that is an increase of 3.5 %), was not constant during all the period and is more important on the dry season (1 °C or an increase of 4.4 %) and on the minimal temperatures (1 °C or an increase of 4.9 %). For rainfall, no significant trend was observed, though a decline of 211 mm (or 36.2 %), from 1969, rainfall totals of about - 0.020 mm/year. These different results highlight the presence of climate change in the Dakar area, with multiple consequences for man and the environment.</text>

It is crucial to domesticate indigenous species particularlythose with socio-economic role such as Fabaceae woody species. This study aims at (i) optimizing seed germination of E. abyssinica, (ii) evaluating the mechanical scarification effect on seedling growth and (iii) seedling growth parameters. We used mechanical and boiling water to scarify E. abyssinica seeds and imbibed at two duration times. Seeds weregerminated at three different temperatures. The results reveal the effectiveness of the mechanical scarification up to100% germination compared to boiling water, 75% (or non-scarified seeds, 4%) and a quick germination (meangermination time and time to 50% germination). Deep-scraping on seed hilum differs from a superficial one andproduces excised seed radicles and seedlings with abundant and fasciculate root system. Growth parameters revealfastness of E. abyssinica growth approaching one meter per year. The present study concludes that E. abyssinica is a fast-growing species that should be adopted in afforestation, reforestation and ecosystem restoration programs. Further research should investigate field growth parameters of E. abyssinica and pursue domestication trials of other indigenous plant species with high socio-economic and ecological importance.</text>

<text>The Prickly Pear cactus (Opuntia ficus indica) adapted to the conditions of arid areas where it offers to man and animals its nourishingand therapeutics properties The importance of this crop is related to its diversity of use and ecological role The juice obtained from thefruit pulp is characterised by a high pH 5.8 making its conservation difficult and its preservation requires thermal treatment at over 115°C which is harmful for the bioactive constituents and color compared to orange juice, processed at temperatures below100°C. The objective of this study aims to valuing this wealth of bioactive molecules of prickly pear and increase its consumption in the form of cocktails with orange juice. A stabilisation treatment by heat, weakly affects polyphenols rate which decreases from 10.5% for cocktail of 30%. The loss is 12% in the prickly pear juice. However, the vitamin C content decreases from 25 to 29% following thermal treatment at 85°C for 30 min for the orange juice and prickly pear juice. Thermal treatment of these juices showed that the antioxidant activity decreases. It is 16% in the presence of 30% of prickly pear juice. During storage the loss of vitamin C is 25% in the presence of 30% pear juice; the loss in polyphenol is low. Microbiological quality control showed the effectiveness of pasteurisation at 85°C. Valorisation in the form of natural cocktail juice is particularly interesting due to the contribution of bioactives compounds. It showed acceptable sensory quality.</text>

<text>This work aimed at investigating the diet of Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) chicks in a breeding colony at the Boughrara Lagoon, insoutheastern Tunisia. Using the regurgitate analysis method; we described the diversity of preys consumed by the chicks. We also sampled available preys in the hunting areas of adult egrets, which allowed us to compare the composition of chicks' diet with the range of preys available in the area. Our results show that chicks are exclusively fed on small fishes, mainly the striped seabream (Lithognathus mormyrus) and European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax). These two preys are more abundantly consumed than is predicted by their availability, which suggests that they are preferential preys. However, deeper analyzes suggest that this prey selection process is related to prey size. Indeed, we have found that a fish should have a weight less than 14.74 g to be a potential prey for chicks. Juveniles of the Striped seabream and European seabass are the most consumed fishes simply because their sizes are below this threshold, making them preys well adapted to chick size. This is also supported by the positive relationship found between prey weight and chick age. As the chicks grow up, their parents feed them with larger preys. Direct observations on the hunting behavior of adult egrets would be needed to address in more details the issue of prey selection for chick feeding.</text>
