<text>Environmental indicators are essential tools for tracking environmental risks especially land use degradation. Supporting theenvironmental evaluation and research items needs usually a heavy and costly field work. For these reasons, some methods and indicators of risks have gained in importance in many countries and in international reports. As part of their commitment to transparency to real information, public authority increasingly uses a reduced number of indicators or select existent methods to report on major environmental issues. These economic and time justifications cannot nor ignore or hide the disadvantages of these methods apart from their validation areas especially in arid countries. The study concerned the application of a European method for the evaluation of the risks of desertification namely “the Mediterranean Desertification and Land Use or MEDALUS method”, which had deserved more researches to adapt it to the arid conditions. Indeed, testing this method to the desertification risks evaluation of the agricultural land-use in Tunisia has showed its limits. The review of parameters used and the re-calibration of the risks levels to the agricultural units have improved the results of this method in arid conditions. This improvement was limited about 10% (land degradation risks has reduced from 90.5% to 81% of surface studied) when adapted soil quality index to local conditions and re-calibration of risks levels were applied. But these results do not prevent that validation of the method would improve analyzes and understanding of this phenomenon in local conditions.</text>

In this work, the mechanical behavior of dental implants with different geometric shapes is analyzednumerically by the finite element method. The first objective of this study is to show the importance of the geometric parameters suchas length on the variation of the equivalent stress in the close vicinity of the bone / implant interface. These interfacial stresses areevaluated on the outside and inside of the net. The results clearly show that the best model of the implant obtained is that of 10.43 mmin length. The second objective is focused on the distribution of von Mises stress in the bone and the dental implant in different loadingcases. It is important to know the effects of this type of treatment to obtain a primary stabilization of the structure or at the interfacebone/implant.</text>

Thetechniques used are the additions, of which, the most common are lime and cement.. The purpose of this study is to determine theevolution of the geotechnical properties of a shale soil of the university center of El-Aouana in the wilaya of Jijel (Algeria). The sampletaken on site was modified with additives proportions, 0, 1 %, 3% and 7% of the replacement of cement and lime in dry weight in orderto test the different properties of the fresh paw of clay soil. Finally, on conclude that the addition of a binder (Cement or lime) to shalesoil causes a reduction in plasticity, an improvement in compaction characteristics with Proctor, a rapid increase in the immediate liftindex depending on the treatment. and an increase in cohesion and the angle of friction</text>

<text>To study the vegetation cover of a given region, we often call for the study of pollen rain. This method allows the inventory ofvegetation to be carried out during a given period. The objective of this study is to design the plant inventory of a site in the city ofAnnaba, the Christian Cemetery, based on pollen analysis. The Cemetery is a favorable place, par excellence, for the development offoam pads. These are excellent sensors for pollen and spore diversity. The latter are well preserved in their leaves thanks to a suitableacidity and humidity. Four representative samples of the spatial variability of the cemetery's environment and flora were used. Theresults obtained show that the foam pads are, on the one hand, very developed and on the other hand very rich in pollen which are inperfect state of conservation. Pollen analysis has shown a great diversity in flora, in particular51 taxa belonging to 41 families, 28 treespecies and 23 non-tree species. The pollen of Poaceae is the most dominant in the four samples, followed by the pollens of the species: Pinus sylvestris, Cupressus sempervirens, Quercu ssuber, Olea europeae and Myrica sp. The majority of the plant species existing in the plant cover of the site are manifested by the abundance of their pollens in the moss pads. The presence of "foreign" pollens has been noted in relation to different species which are not included in the cemetery's floristic inventory. The use of pollen analysis helps to define the relationships that exist between the plant inventory making up the plant cover and pollen rain. This approach to determining highly pollen-producing species in protected urban areas could be used as a predictive model, by the Ministry of Health, of periods conducive to allergies in humans.</text>

The chemical composition of bread flours (you have only studied soft wheat flour) withadded malt flour (water, fat, protein, ash, starch content) as well as the technological and functional properties (gluten, falling number,Zeleny, CHOPIN alveograph) were thus determined. The study showed that the incorporation of malt flour into wheat flour providesmore mineral salts, fat and starch and a decrease in the sedimentation index, amylase activity, swelling index "G" and deformation work "W" and an increase in tenacity "P". The breads obtained had a good volume, a good crumb texture, a fine crust and a good taste, especially for flours with 1% and 2% malt added, comparable to the control bread.</text>

<text>Dates are fruits rich in biologically active substances, which gives them great interest in terms of validation. In this study we aimed at the characteristics of the fruits of two varieties of Phoenix dactylifera L., one Tunisian (Deglet Nour), was selected for its nutritional quality and its appreciation throughout the world and the other of Saudi origin. (Madjoul), which is very popular due to its large size, texture and special taste. Analyzes of biochemical parameters such as total polyphenols, flavonoids, condensed tannins, total sugars, proteins as well as trace elements (iron and sodium) indicate a significant difference in the two varieties studied. The global examination of the results of the present study show that the flavonoids represent the major constituents of phenolic compounds in the Deglet Nour Tunisian variety and the condensed tannins in the Madjoul Saudi variety (43.17 ± 4.76 μg EQ/g DW and 160.92 ± 39.22 μg EC/g DW,respectively). Similarly, the results indicate a richness in total sugars of the Madjoul date which is: 214.79 ± 15.25 mg / g DW compared to the Deglet Nour date, on the other hand the latter has the highest protein content: 15.13 ± 3.18 μg / g DW. This variation could be linked to various factors, more particularly the geographical origin, the varietal effect, the maturity and the harvest period. This comparative study could lead to valuing dates, remember that phenolic compounds are known for their biological virtues and arouse significant interest in antioxidant activity.</text>

<text>Heat pipes have applications in several areas of thermal engineering, including electronic components to spacecraft thrust chamber exchangers. Although they can transfer large amounts of heat over a spatially restricted interval, they exhibit several operating limitations. The properties of the working fluid, the capillary structure, the orientation of the pipe, the length and the diameter of the pipe, are parameters that affect these limits. The present study aims to numerically evaluate the heat transfer capacity of a heat pipe. A one-dimensional model is developed considering water, ammonia and sodium as working fluids. The capillary structure is taken to be awire mesh wick or a square groove, for which several operating thermal ranges are investigated. A comparative study for different properties of heat pipes has been performed using the Matlab® software.</text>

<text>In the hybrid or electric vehicle, the high demand for electric power requires the use of high electric current; the power automotive connector should resist this increase of electric current in order to avoid serious damage caused by the increase in contact temperature by the Joule effect. The objective of this article is to analyze experimentally and numerically the effect of the variation in the cable diameter on the decrease in contact temperature. For this reason, a finite element model has been developed to calculate the numerical values of the contact temperature for several cable diameters and several electric currents. In addition, experimental tests have been carried out to validate this numerical model. The results show that the influence of the cable section on the contact temperature is never neglected.</text>
