تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن دور الأفكار الإيجابية ومستوى التوجه نحو الحياة وفق ما يعتقد الفرد انه ذو أهمية ومعنى في حياته وعلاقة كل ذلك بقلق المستقبل، ومعرفة أثرهما على درجة السيطرة على حالة التوتر وعدم الاطمئنان، وهذا لدى طلبة الجامعة المقبلين على التخرج من قسم علم النفس وعلوم التربية والأرطفونيا. تكونت عينة الدراسة من 147 طالبا وطالبة من خمس تخصصات لقسم علم النفس بجامعة باتنة1. تراوحت أعمارهم بين 22 و37 سنة. استعمل كل من سلم التفكير الإيجابي Scheier & Carver (1985) ترجمة عبد الستار (2010)، مقياس قلق المستقبل (شقير، 2005(، مقياس التوجه نحو الحياة (الأنصار، 2002). كشفت نتائج تحليل الانحدار المتعدد عن وجود أثر لكل من التفكير الإيجابي والتوجه نحو الحياة على خفض درجة قلق لمستقبل. كما بينت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في التوجه نحو الحياة حسب الحالة الاجتماعية ومستوى المعيشي لصالح متوسطي ومرتفعي المستوى.  بينما لا توجد فروق في كل من المتغيرات الثلاثة حسب الجنس. وخلصت هذه الدراسة إلى أن توظيف الأفكار الإيجابية والتوجه نحو المستقبل لهما أثر قوي في خفض حالة التوتر وعدم الاطمئنان وبالتالي خفض درجة قلق المستقبل لدى الطلاب.
study aims at investigating the effect of positive thinking and life orientation on future anxiety among the university students who are going to graduate, and what one thinks is important and meaningful in his or her life to reduce stress and insecurity. The sample consisted of 147 students from five specialties in the Department of Psychology. Age ranged between (22 to 37)  years. They have responded to positive thinking scale (Scheier & Carver (1985) traduced by Abesettar (2010), Future anxiety scale (Chakir, 2005) and life orientation test (Alansari, 2002). Results of multiple linear regression showed a negative relationship between both positive thinking and life orientation with future anxiety. Also, results showed that there is a statistically significant difference in positive thinking and life orientation between students who their economic status are average or higher than who are lower. But there is no statistically significant difference due to gender difference. We concluded that thinking factor has a strong impact in adjusting the level of degree of orientation towards life.
