تمثل تقنية المسرح داخل المسرح واحدة من التقنيات التي يشتغل عليها كاتب المسرح وتعني وجود مسرحية إطار ومسرحية داخلية، وقد ظهرت هذه التقنية في نصوص عالمية مثل هاملت لشكسبير وست شخصيات تبحث عن مؤلف لبيرانديلو كما ظهرت عربيا في نصوص عديدة لصلاح عبد الصبور ووليد إخلاصي وتوفيق الحكيم وباعتبار توفيق الحكيم واحدا من أهم الكتاب العرب عُرف عنه التجريب والمحاولة في الكثير من الأساليب والتقنيات فإنه استخدم المسرح داخل المسرح في بعض مسرحياته منها مسرحية "احتفال أبو سنبل" حيث كان الهدف من هذا الاستخدام النظر في الممارسة المسرحية المعاصرة والتسويق لبعض الرؤى النقدية والحديث عن القلق الوجودي الذي يعيشه الفنان مع كل إنتاج مسرحي، كما هدفت تقنية المسرح داخل المسرح في هذا النص إلى جلب التاريخ إلى المسرح ومساءلته من خلال شخصيات من الحضارة المصرية القديمة حيث استغلّ توفيق الحكيم مناسبة الاحتفالات السنوية التي تجرى في معبد أبو سمبل كسبب لكتابة هذه المسرحية واستخدام تلك التقنية، بحيث حوّل مجموعة الأفكار والرؤى التي عبّر عنها نظريا في كتب أخرى إلى نص مسرحي بمجموعة شخصيات وأحداث ومواقف.
stractThe theater technique within the theater is one of the techniques that the playwright works on, and it means the presence of a  framework play and an internal play. This technique appeared in international texts such as Hamlet by Shakespeare and six  characters looking for an author by Pirandello. It also appeared in Arabic in many texts by Salah Abdel Sabour, Walid Ikhlasi and Tawfiq al-Hakim. Considering that Tawfiq al-Hakim was one of the most important Arab writers, he was known for experimentation and attempt in many methods and techniques, so he used the theater within the theater in some of his plays, including the play "Abu Simbel's Celebration", where the aim of this use was to look at contemporary theatrical practice and market some critical visions and talk about anxiety Existentialism experienced by the artist with every theatrical production, and the technique of theater within the theater in this text aims to bring history to the theater and question it through personalities from the ancient Egyptian civilization, where Tawfiq al-Hakim took  advantage of the occasion of the annual celebrations that take place in the Abu SimbelTemple as a reason for writing this play and using those technique, so he transformed a set of ideas and visions, that theoretically expressed in other books into theatrical text with a group of personalities, events and situations.
